I realise this is quite a newbie question, and I don't know if it should really go in this section, but I know that there's a file somewhere that contains the commands that run when you first open a new session of unix, but I can't remember what it's called. I thought it was "profile" or something.
I can't google for this because I can't really define it very well, but I hope someone can help me. Robin. |

Sorry just being stupid. It is called "profile" but it is hidden, so it's ".profile" in my user directory.
So I edit it by just going "emacs ~/.profile". Ignore my silly troubles. |

lol, no worries :-)
you might want to also take a look at ~/.bashrc depending on your default shell. |
