hello all,
new to the forum and have what I suspect is an easy question... on linux I can do a 'rpm -q' to find out what version an installed package is, but how do I find out what version (or even if it is currently installed) of a software is installed on Solaris(9)?? any help appreciated, thanks. /riz |

typing "command --version" usually does the trick... or clicking "Help" | "About" if it's a graphical application...

hmm, yeah it's from the cli, so 'help>about' no good.
I tried the --version switch but no worky. I found a command yesterday that listed all the installed packages, which is a start, but I can't remember it today, as I had a world of pain last night watching the footy! <edit> ahh, it was pkginfo, but it doesn't tell you what version the software is. <_< |
