im looking to build a bash shell script that processes stat info for a website. each page will require its own counter, so for example the page index.html will have a file called index.hits associated with it.

it also needs to record data like date and time of the hit and IP addresses.

im still only a beginner so any sample code if anyone has it will be really useful!
