let me get this straight... you would like to install linux onto a computer and make it dual-boot so you can have Windows on the same computer?

is this correct?

yes, it is definitely possible.

basically, you have to install Windows first, and then Linux.

When installing Windows, be sure you only allocate half your disk (or your chosen amount) to the Windows partitions.

When you install Linux, it should pick up the fact that Windows is already installed, and will install into the remaining space (unless you tell it otherwise). You will then have a menu when you boot asking for which OS you wish to boot into.
