Hello, all: I've been tinkering with UNIX via OS X mostly for a while (but moving into Linux, too) and I have a little knowledge, mostly broadscale. I hope to focus in on real-world system admin basics, fundamentals and advanced, since that appears where I'm headed now. My own dev. server is on OS 10.3.4, apache 1.3, php 4+ (?), with a mySQL db and I'm using cocoamysql and CronniX and some other things. Just a development/practice thing, nothing public...yet. But as I'm moving to more pro sys admin life and less tinkering, feel free to bombard me with your Top Ten Things A System Admin UNIX/LINUX must know to Thrive professionally: email or links here that I should not miss.<<seriously, it would be a great help and with enough input and some editing might make for a concise list of sorts...'cause the chasm is far and wide and deep with this, isn't it? ;) Err, I'm not sure I expressed that as clearly as I could have... I'm going to dive into here now... |
