I recently decided to try some UNIX and downloaded Solaris-x86. I have tried to set up the Sun One Web Server and when I try to configure during install, I either get a rejected IP address or DNS domain name.
In more detail, when I use a << spam >> hostname, (<< spam >> as the DNS domain name, is that bad?) with my public IP, the IP is rejected. When I use a dyndns.org hostname with dyndns.org as the DNS domain name, the DNS domain name is rejected. When I use the name associated with my IP address assigned by my ISP, the DNS domain name is again rejected. I have tried the DNS servers used by the router as the DNS, but it still doesn't like it. I want to get this to work, I have tried numerous configurations and it still won't accept any. Can anybody help me out or point me in the direction toward a solution? I have searched the massive Sun documentation with no positive results. Thanks ahead of time. |
