Sorry about the late introduction but I just stumbled across this section of the forum.

I have been in the IT industry since 1999, up until two years ago I was doing 2nd, 3rd line support on a wide range of Windies products.
I moved into the unix arena after being make redundant and got a lucky break by being offered an oracle dba position which required no experience.

Today I look after the backend of a couple of BBC Worldwide website's like Topgear and Radiotimes, I'm m.c.s.e & c.c.n.a and currently looking to do my ocp (oracle), I much prefer the unix enviroment as I find it a challenge, there is nothing quite satisfaction like creating a script and seeing the results run perfectly.
My areas are sh/ksh scripting, pl/sql, oracle & minute sysadmin waiting to go on course.
I'm happy to help anyone with anything if I don't know it I have a good network of IT friends that I can ask?....

i see you have already started answering posts, and for this i thank you :D there were so many i didn't have a clue about!
