it doesn't... the forum software recognises Google's agent and displays it's name instead of lots of anonymous members... nice, eh? :D

Yeah, that is a nice feature. I intend to implement something like that soon. Any idea how it is done?

a vague idea is that it looks at the HTTP request somehow and figures out that the user agent is "googlebot"... but i'm kinda guessing.

perhaps you may wanna ask on the Invision Power Board Community Forum, i'm sure they know :D
