One - For security reasons, we ask that you not share your account password or other personal information with other users on the board. Doing so could lead to your account being hacked, your personal information being made public knowledge, and other users impersonating you. If you have problems with your account contact an administrator. If you have forgotten your password, click here. Two - Please post threads in proper forums. Posting in incorrect forums leads to confusion amongst other members and will be moved. All forums are aptly titled and described to help cut down on confusion. Three - Multiple threads on the same topic are not allowed as they clutter forums and confuse members. Unix/Linux Forum is an anti-spam community and does not reward members according to post count. Duplicate threads will be deleted. Four - Signatures (optional personal notes that automatically display beneath your posts) are limited to a 650 bytes in length. Signatures are subject to editing by board moderators for offensive/innappropriate language, to fix coding to comply with the board's structure, or to edit the size. Moderators may edit members sigs for minor violations without prior contact to the member. If a major violation occurs, a moderator will contact the member via pm. If the signature isn't changed within a reasonable time of reading the pm, the moderator may edit/suspend the member's sig. Five - The use of DiStOrTeD TeXt, abbreviated text (examples include ‘how r u’ and ‘i luv u 2’) and POSTING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS is not acceptable at Unix/Linux Forum and members posting such will be contacted by Staff. Not all members have English as a first language and distortion/kewl talk may be confusing. Six - Respect fellow members at Unix/Linux Forum. Everyone is entitled to post, discuss, have opinions, and the like here. Remember to post opinions in a constructive manner, not abusive. Seven - Advertising Websites. Members are welcome to advertise their own websites (personal, computing-related and non-computing) in their signatures and profiles. All advertising threads will be deleted. Unix/Linux Forum does NOT allow solicitation of staff members for other sites. Eight - PM "Spam" is not tolerated at any time by any member. This includes (but is not limited to) website advertising, harrassment, staff solicitation, and the like via PM. Please enjoy posting at Unix/Linux Forum. Following these guidelines will help the boards run smoothly and create a more enjoyable environment for everyone. Thank you! SPAM GUIDE: What is Spam? Well, any post that is unnecessary, irrelevant, or is posted to bump or boost post counts are considered spam. Also, posts that make the page hard to load are considered spam. These type of posts are listed below.
