I am trying to run a TCP SYN/ACK handshake test on a firewall.
I am writing a script in which i use hping to simulate a TCP handshake to make sure that data packets can only be transferred once the handshake is complete. However, any (unexpected) TCP packets generate an automatic RST response. I was wondering whether there is any way in which to disable this feature of TCP. Thanks, Aman Client Firewall Server ----------------SYN--------------> data -----------------|blocked blocked|------------------data <------------SYN/ACK------------ data -----------------|blocked blocked|------------------data ----------------ACK--------------> data------------------------------------> <-----------------------------------data |
