Gnome here, I used to preffer KDE till Hobbs got me using Gnome. Works flawlessly (other than the battery monitor) on my laptop.

yeah, i never got that working with my laptop either (while i still had my laptop, of course).

pfinder got it working though, on his laptop i think!! :D

It worked fine under KDE and Gnome on RedHat which is strange.

but not gnome on debian?? very strange. sounds like a hardware driver/interface issue IMO. i'm sure it's solveable (sp?), maybe just a case of searching for a new battery interface for debian.

Currently using Gnome, haven't used KDE much yet, but I think I'll stick with Gnome anyway.
