Hello,

I have a floppy disk in my Ultra 1 FDD drive, and I cannot get it out! There is, of course, no physical 'eject' button on the drive on Ultra 1's.

I've tried typing 'eject', but this just seems to ignore the FDD drive, and happily tells me that there is no CD-ROM in the drive...

Any ideas?

Have you got the disk out yet?

If not, a remedy that always worked for me when I was at Soundwell was to take a paper clip, unfold it and use it to poke into the little hole next to the floppy tray. It's a mechanical eject, and doesn't require the machine to be switched on. Apparently.

Of course, it only works if there is a littl hole next to the floppy tray. ;)

the only way to eject it is in software normally.... i could eject it that way, but i'd rather get it working properly... i'll keep it as a last resort.

Problem Solved!!

CODE
floppycontrol --eject

and sure enough... the FDD whirrs a bit, and the disk pops out the front!
